Puppy Preschool

Puppy preschool is aimed at puppies between 8-16 weeks of age. Learning at this time is at its highest and behaviours and routines quickly develop.
Think of them as a sponge, constantly absorbing (learning) all that is around them.
It is at this time that most of their firsts also occur. New Home, New family, New rules, New food, the list goes on.
It is vital at this age that we are aware our puppy will need direction and training to learn how all of these new things fit into his/her new world!

Our 4 week course will build confidence for you as a pet owner and for your puppy. We introduce your puppy to new and exciting life experience in a positive way ensuring, a ‘been there, done that’ attitude.
Each week our classes build on the week previously, covering all aspects of puppy ownership.
Socialization Socialization is a huge concept; it encompasses the entire world around. Anything, anyone your puppy may meet in his/her life. We start his/her social circle and then point you in the right direction to follow through so there are minimal surprises (fear) in life.
Obedience Obedience means many different things to many people. Puppy preschool is where this all begins. Through positive reinforcement we teach you how to teach you puppy what is acceptable behavior his/her new home.
Problem Solving We also tackle some of those problem behaviours that may have already established at home. Including toilet training and biting.
Health and Nutrition Our goal in this area is to give you lots of information to ensure you are giving your puppy the best chance at life. From preventative medicines, flea control, heartworm worming etc to what they need nutritionally to grow into healthy adults.
 Puppies are introduced to our hospital in a fun and active way so coming to the veterinary hospital isn’t like pulling teeth. A lasting memory of fun times at preschool keeps them bonding in the door to say Hi.
We know that many people are advised not to socialize new puppies until the vaccine course is complete, our recommendation also. Puppy preschool provides a safe environment for puppies to obtain those ever so important socialization skills when they need it most. Puppies joining our classes need to have started there initial vaccine course.
Preschool is only the very beginning of what will be a wonderful life with your new puppy. We set you up to succeed long after preschool has finished. By teaching you how to see and manage NORMAL puppy behavior you can continue training at home and shape your puppy into the perfect family companion.
